The hotel

After two years, it became apparent that we have yet again outgrown our venue…so we decided, in the spirit of “go big or go home” to give ourselves some serious space to stretch out and do our thing in 2012. So it is that with great enthusiasm that we move to the Regency Hyatt Dearborn in Dearborn, MI.

Just a brief 15 minutes from the airport, the Hyatt also boasts over 770 guest rooms (so you don’t haven’t worry about getting stuck in an overflow hotel), more than double the amount of function space at our disposal (so there should be even less standing-room-only panels, and less panels turned away), the strongest Internet connection we have had in our history (so maybe it will last an hour or so before we crush it), and an absolutely enormous consuite (but still no Brazilian Beef…there are still people in line from two years ago); all of this just waiting for us to come out and geek up the place.

Reservations

You can make a reservation online through their reservation system by 9 April, 2012 for our special group rate of $99 per night ($139/night for parlor-only suites, $279/night for hospitality suites with bedroom) by clicking here. After you book your room, grab your confirmation number and let the Hotel Liaison know of any special requests by filling out the form hereIf you make a request through the hotel, there is no guarantee that it will be honored. You must send requests to the Hotel Liaison. Seriously…pretty please, let us take care of your requests. We really want to!

Room Parties

If you wish to throw a room party, you must coordinate with the convention to ensure that you are in the party block. Rooms outside of the party block will be subject to a strictly enforced 10pm noise curfew; violations of the noise curfew will result in eviction without refund. Please contact our Room Party Coordinator (roomparties -AT- penguicon -DOT- org)if you would like more information about throwing a room party so that we can avoid all of that unpleasantness and put your party in the appropriate space. If you think you might want to throw a party, but don’t want to commit to having it listed in the program book…or even if you are just noisy, contact the Hotel Liaison and we can make sure you are in the party block.
